Weekend Review of Tips

Weekend Review of Tips

Well Saturday went well for members of VG TIPS.

Four selections on the day, all of which returned profit. Buratino was 4/1 when selected and won with something in hand. Up at Musselburgh my morning tip to be on Third Time Lucky was another winner, this time at a price of 3/1.

Those who took the early price on Hethal did well. Available at odds of Evens on Friday afternoon, that one provided Frankie Dettori with his second win of the day, but the SP was a much shorter price. It pays to be on early if you want to be a profitable punter.

The other Dettori win, of course, was on Golden Horn in the Derby. I was on that one ante-post many weeks ago when Bet365 were offering odds of 20/1. I was on each way. I will be recording a video for members re the plusses and minuses of betting ante-post. For the record, that was my greatest ever ante-pots success.

My each way tip to members two days before the big race at Epsom was to be on Storm the Stars at odds ranging between 20 and 25/1, depending on when they placed their bet. Storm the Stars finished third, so returning some nice profit.

Alert members who follow me on Twitter via @betonsportsips knew what to do when Field of Vision was declared a non runner at Lingfield on Saturday night. They should be on Secret Tale instead. After all, as I said in my selections e-mail of Friday, if a horse called Nelspruit ran well in an earlier race at Epsom, that would frank the form of Secret Tale (the last named had finished a close runner up behind Nelspruit previously). Nelspruit was the horse to get closest to our very impressive winner at Epsom, Buratino.

I offered two tips on Sunday. At 4/6 when selected, Keble was another value bet if you took the early price. For Keble won at a much shorter 1/3. And it looked as though it would be two winners from two tips on Sunday as the 11/8 selection Parish Hall led at the Curragh with half a length left in that race. But Parish Hall was nabbed late on by an opponent racing from over a stone lighter.

Parish Hall reacted by reaching across and biting the winner!

I felt like doing the same thing. But you can’t win them all. The weekend was a very profitable one for members of VG TIPS.

The next selections will be for racing on Wednesday. They will be available Tuesday night.

I use Sky Bet as a rule but they don’t always have odds up the night before a race and so on a couple of selections i’ve missed the better early price. I don’t wish to have accounts all over the place if i can avoid it so i was wondering if you had a recommendation on where best to open an extra account or possibly two ?

    Cheers Mark

The first prices are published by Bet365 where you can also watch the race you bet on. If you’re overseas on holiday you can also watch some live football games throughout the season (Owls from time to time). Bet365 always for the earliest betting market show & usually best prices on the racing. Would recommend Paddy Power also (also able to watch races there that you’ve bet on). Best football odds are, much more often than not, with BetVictor. V
