It's a conspiracy! I am more and more convinced that those who run football clubs are getting my tips, then deciding to sack a failed manager, all to ensure that their team wins the first match without that boss, and so guarantee my accumulator falls down. It never ceases to amaze me how often a manager is fired within 24 hours of my placing such a bet.
This past midweek it was John Sheridan. He was sacked (not for the first time) as manager of Oldham Athletic, a team propping up League 1 and without a win since dinosaurs . . .
