Jim Smith died this week. Another football manager of yesteryear gone and a bloody good one at that. The list of clubs he managed is endless. The so called 'bald eagle' was in demand at a time when owners of football clubs were not obsessed with hiring coaches from abroad. When they didn't think a manager would be better simply because their surname ended in a vowel.
The reluctance of so called big clubs to even consider British managers these days is a reflection on how myopic football club Chairman can be. Brendan Rodgers is doing a great job . . .
