So there you have it. The King George VI is over with for another year and a new star is born. If, that is, a 9 year old can be classed as being born.
We won today on Thistlecrack at odds of 6/4. That turned out to be value. The horse has proved conclusively that he is a chaser with a bright future when winning the King George VI at Kempton on Boxing Day. Do not underestimate that victory. It is rare for a novice to win such a big race. He'd only raced over the larger obstacles . . .

One of the best things about Christmas Day coming to an end is the knowledge that the following day delivers us racing fans a sackful of superb racing.
Be that on turf at Kempton Park, or across the Irish Sea at Leopardstown, this is when the jumps season really takes off. We get to see the very best thoroughbred National Hunt horses in action.
It's St Stephens Day in Ireland and, take it from this son of a Dubliner, there is no better way to spend December 26th in Ireland than to go racing at Leopardstown. You will be . . .
