A tale of two managers. To my pleasant surprise, Burnley have signed manager Sean Dyche to a new four year contract. I had half expected the newish owners to sack him. The Clarets are in great danger of going down this season. Their best hope may be that there end up being three worse teams in the league.

Prior to the International break, the domestic transfer window closed at the end of August. It was a fairly busy last few days with some notable transfers and interesting loan deals.

Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford grabbed the headlines. His agent played a cute game, teasing Pep Guardiola and Manchester City with the possibility of City acquiring Ronaldo from Juventus. But it was all a ruse. All the time Ronaldo was in conversation with his former manager at United, Sir Alex Ferguson.

So Harry Kane has committed his immediate future to Spurs. Or, as his own tweet said: "I will be staying at Tottenham this summer." Has anyone told him that summer ends next week?

Honestly. He and his brother - who acts as his agent -could not have handled this situation any worse. There is no way an experienced, hard ball agent would have allowed Kane to sign a 6 year contract with Spurs. A contract that seemingly had no early exit clause. It was a full house from tipster Robert Ryan in Scotland last weekend. Well done to the self styled 'wee man.'

Here's what Robert wrote to subscribers in the days prior to Celtic playing Hearts in the Scottish League Cup:- "Celtic's Kyogo Furuhashi looks a talent, some lovely movement and finishes in recent games, including a hat trick in the 6-0 thrashing of Dundee. Kyogo is one to add to anytime goalscorer coupons. He’s 6/5 to score anytime against Hearts on Sunday."

We go into the new Premier League season with some unknowns. Agents are getting busy trying to find their players a new club. The first transfer deadline is only 18 days away.

While we know know where Romelu Lukaku and Jack Grealish have made their moves, to Chelsea and Manchester City respectively, as of Friday we still do not know where Harry Kane will be playing his football this season. The club he is registered to, Tottenham, play on Sunday the club he wants to join, Man City.
