Roy Hodgson rings the changes as England expects against Slovakia

England manager Roy Hodgson is set to make several changes to the starting eleven for the third and final group match against Slovakia on Monday night.

Wayne Rooney, who has been very influential in his new role, is set to be rested for the important match. Jordan Henderson and Jack Wilshere will replace Rooney and Dele Alli in midfield.

Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling are replaced up front with Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge, the two men who turned around England’s fortunes in the second half of their match against Wales.

Defender Kyle Walker has impressed onlookers but it seems both he and fellow full back Danny Rose will be left out of the team. Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand will replace the pair.

The pragmatist in Hodgson has one eye on the next game. If England win or get a draw they will likely be up against a third place team for the last sixteen game to be played in Paris on Saturday night.

As at 1pm on Monday, the best odds on offer are 5/1 for Slovakia to win, the draw is 23/10 and bookies offer 5/6 for England to come out on top.
