Any good publicity that racing gets is to be welcomed.
So I heartily congratulate the former champion jump jockey Tony McCoy on being knighted at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
We shall never see his like again. His dedication to his job, and to the sport as a whole, is to be admired. He has raised the profile of a sport run by an organisation that could not run a whelk stall (and that's an insult to those who do!).
