With the flat season nearing its close, I can say it has been better one than the previous one, but I still think flat racing ain't what it used to be.
We can't have a Frankel come along every year, of course not. But there seems to be a distinct lack of stars around right now. That will change once the crop of Frankel children mature. Some will appear in the same Group 1 races that their daddy excelled in. It's likely one or two of them will go on to be stars.
But, on the whole . . .
