One racing person described the period of racing between Christmas and the Cheltenham Festival as "racing going into a funk."
It's true that January and February can offer us less than thrilling National Hunt racing. This past week has been a disgrace. Many days on which there were more all weather flat race meeting than those over jumps - and this in the middle of the jumps season. Crazy!
Cheltenham is now the target for so many of the best racehorses in training.
I would not blame anyone who didn't place a bet between now and Tuesday March 14th . . .
