I am a big fan of racing in Ireland. I'm biased, of course. My late father came from a Dublin family steeped in all things equine. But I've always enjoyed going racing in Ireland.
The Irish Derby meeting staged at the new look Curragh last week was ill managed and resulted in poor attendances considering the high quality racing on offer. Those who organise that meeting need to think again. The attendance for the Friday daytime meeting that began at 3.15pm was a mere 3,661 people.
At which point didn't the organisers realise that folk . . .
