Some races truly are two horse events and the punter has to make a decision between two that are closely matched on form and ability, or who have met before. Some days you call the right one of the two. Other days you pick the wrong one.
I wrote yesterday of how I backed The Gurkha to beat Galileo Gold at Royal Ascot. The Gurkha was slow away that day and met trouble in running. Nevertheless, Galileo Gold won well and was stretching away at the finish.
