I'm writing this after Fyre Cray was beaten a neck by a 50/1 outsider at Yarmouth. Proof positive that odds on shots can be beaten and that such low class races sometimes deliver a shock outcome. I don't mind being beaten by a 50/1 shot, good luck to anyone who backed that one. But I do very much object to being beaten by a neck. And there's worse to come. The winner - supposedly a previously unraced two year old called Mandarin Princess - turned out on further investigation to be a more experienced three year old . . .
