If people ever wonder why I don't back horses at ludicrously short prices, surely they will know for sure after today.
The highly fancied 4/9 favourite Goddess finishes plumb last of six at Leopardstown. Now perhaps something was wrong with her and all will be revealed by trainer Aidan O'Brien in due course. But it is further proof that you cannot be backing horses at short odds on prices based on one previous run, no matter how impressive that vast margin win was.
