There is no such thing as a sure thing. You do know that, don't you?
The stable lad who tells you his horse cannot lose. The bloke who is a mate of your third cousin, twice removed, who told your newsagent that a certain horse was sure to win... he's probably wrong.
And if Kieren Fallon told me a horse cannot lose, I'd check my pocket for my wallet.
But today a horse won for us at odds against that was as close as they come to a sure fire winner. If all else was to fail . . .
