The British Horseracing Authority blames the football. I blame them.
Their continuing drive to put on more and more racing to please the big bookmakers, regardless of the quality of the races themselves, is turning people away from the sport.
I am not looking through rose tinted spectacles. And I am not talking about the quality of racing being better ten years ago. I am only talking about 2-3 years ago.
There are fewer thoroughbred horses in training, which in itself is a reflection of the very poor prize . . .
