Winter doesn't only hit jumps meetings. A proposed flat meeting at Leicester was called off on Tuesday and that may not be the last meeting which is abandoned this week.
I ended the day wishing Wetherby had been called off. A short priced winning tip was followed by my being proved right in opposing the favourite but, crucially, picking the wrong one to beat it.
And when I did side with the early market favourite in the only other race I analysed on Tuesday, that favourite flopped miserably.
Had I gone to Wetherby races today I would have had . . .
