Jack Frost has arrived. Hailstorms, ice, snow... they've either made it to the UK or are on their way.
The first race meeting casualties will be imminent and will not be the last.
But the weather is the one thing we cannot beat, so we must hope some of the better meetings scheduled for the coming days survive.
On Wednesday I wanted to concentrate on the meeting at Newcastle and Newbury. The last named includes a few quality horses but, sadly, a some races of very small fields.
