The feast of racing that was the Open meeting at Cheltenham came to a close on Sunday. More top quality racing which was very informative for the future feature jumps meetings.
No surprise that trainers such as Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson and Alan King were among the winners over the weekend. It's that time of the year when they begin to get their best horses in peak form.
One sad note was the death of my late father's favourite jump jockey, Dessie Hughes. He went on to be a top trainer and lived to see his son, Richard . . .
