What a pity that the umpteen course inspections at Exeter resulted in Bredon Hill Lad being withdrawn from racing. He had previously easily beaten the eventual winner of the Haldon Handicap today.
That's no guarantee in itself that he would have beaten that one again on Monday, but it's more likely than not. The other each way pick, Ballegan (8/1 when selected) finished second today.
Trainers have to make a decision whether or not to send their horses on long road trips at the same time as racecourses are inspecting courses for the first, second or third . . .
