The Craven meeting at a sun kissed Newmarket got under way on Wednesday.
There were some notable and noteworthy performances from horses that have entries in the big flat races of this season. True Story and Sandiva looked good, particularly the former.
And there was Ryan Moore once again reminding us why he is one of the best. Not just of today, but of all time.
He was on one of our two winners today, Shifting Power. Moore fought out a tight finish that some jockeys would not have won. But, as one tweeter said today, he is "different gravy . . .
