Saturday is the usual busy day of racing across the UK. Until you have witnessed how a stable organises the transport of horses you can have no idea of the logistics involved. I am second to few in my admiration for the stable lads and lassies who are up before the lark to ensure the horses they care for have the best chance of performing well on the day.
Jockeys also have to make big decisions. Where shall I go? Those who have a choice must decide at which course they have the best chance of riding a winner. After . . .
