All the attention will be on the Shergar Cup at Ascot. I call it the Mickey Mouse Cup of racing.
Usually the horses are quality while the foreign jockeys you know little or nothing about can be lacking. But, having studied the racecard for this year, I don't fancy any of the horses either. The Shergar Cup does not look as attractive as in more recent years. I am, as always, swerving it.
I am not a racing snob. I don't care where the profitable punts race, just so long as they deliver profit.
The meeting at Newmarket . . .
