Java Rose won. Hooray!
It was 1pm before I made my final choice for the 2.40 race at Ludlow.
You may recall, I feared the bookies might mark Java Rose up as odds on. But I waited and, 13/8 was available at lunchtime. While clearly not a big price in itself, it was arguably bigger than it should have been.
And Montoya's Son won for us. And he was that rare beast. A horse whose price improved as the day went on. Selected when the best price was 7/4 last night, he came home first at . . .
