The racing on Friday is not the best. Time was you could be sure that Thursday and Friday meetings on the flat offered us quality and some big field handicaps. Not now.
There are fewer and fewer thoroughbred racehorses in training these days and that is reflected in small fields. A Listed contest at Goodwood tomorrow that had 6 runners last year, only has 4 this. Next year it may well be a two horse race.
Friday is a classic case of not betting for the sake of it. And of only betting if the odds on offer are, potentially . . .
