Lightning struck at a very wet Newmarket on Thursday and, appropriately, Stormy Antarctic caused a shock by beating a hot favourite in Foundation.
To have flat racing at the HQ of that code in such torrential rain and under such dark skies is rare and evidence once more that the form of what we are seeing on the flat right now should be treated with caution. Run these races on Good ground in May, or Good to Firm in June, and you will get very different results.
