It's here. The Chester festival. A favourite of mine. But one that was messed up last season by ludicrous amounts of rain, a muddy course and stalls having to be done away with for several races.
Rain is also forecast this week, along with some heavy winds. That'll blow a few dresses sky high!
The Roodee course at Chester is unique. A little gem that is steeped in history. I like it for all manner of reasons. Not least the low draw bias (especially over the shorter distance races), for Franny Norton, the jockey who rides the course . . .
