You would have thought so had you been at not so glorious Goodwood on Tuesday. Foul weather and, worst case scenario for punters, a dramatic change in ground conditions in the 12 hours before racing began.
From Good to Firm to Good to Soft. Such late changes are a nightmare for tipsters and punters. At times like that, betting late in the day is the best bet. Or not at all.
