Firstly an apology. Or two.
One on behalf of the clerk of the course at Haydock Park. He will not say 'sorry' himself. So allow me to do so on his behalf. He cocked up big style on Saturday. He did not water the course in the morning which led to the winds and sunshine turning the going on the racecourse from the Good advertised the night before, to one of Firm come the time of the first race.
