Jockey Joe Fanning had a good day at the office on Wednesday.
At the time of writing he's had three winners. Sadly not when I was on him with Ambleside, which finished second.
But he and trainer Mark Johnston are still in form in August, as they were much earlier in this very ordinary flat season.
Perhaps we shall see bigger field races as the season nears its end and the jumps season takes priority. I hope so. This is the worst quality flat season I and many other can recall.
And that inevitably has a knock on effect . . .
