Pardon me, but with Good Friday 2014 set to stage racing for the first time, I am relieved the big bookies have yet to persuade the British Horseracing Authority to stage meetings on Christmas Day.
I am not just being selfish in wanting the odd day away from studying form. I am thinking of those who work in racing. Not the rich people but, for example, the stable lads and lassies who work hard enough as it is, often for a pittance and - if they are unlucky - for bosses who . . .
