A superb Saturday of profitable punting for members of VG Tips including my choosing the 16/1 winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas.
PHOENIX OF SPAIN (above) was my each way NAP for the hotly contested race for which Too Darn Hot and Magna Grecia competed for favouritism.
Under an excellent ride by Jamie Spencer, the in form trainer Charlie Hills saw his grey Phoenix of Spain – a winner for myself and members last season – open up a commanding lead and win the best race of the day by three lengths. Too Darn Hot finished second.
Phoenix of Spain was overpriced in the betting market, a fact I highlighted to members the night before racing. You too can become a member for one month or one year. Click here.
ELARQAM was also too big a price to ignore when available at 5/1 the night before racing. I made that my win only NAP of the day. That was the first impressive Saturday winner for my loyal, lovely and appreciative members. A glorious winner at Goodwood.
BATTAASH was the fastest winner of the day. A horse that can act up before races, which he did a little again on Saturday, and has never been the easiest to predict. When he’s mad, he’s crazy. But when he’s good he is very good. On Saturday at Haydock Park he was in stunning form, winning the Group 2 Temple Stakes in style and by two and a half lengths. It was a case of Whoosh!!!
In addition to those three odds against winners there was also each way placed profit on selections priced at 12/1, 8/1 and 15/2.
A great day of betting at the races and subscribers to my long established selection service were suitably grateful, tweeting their praise and thanks, examples of which are below.
Alun tweeted:- “On fire today, Vernon.”
Long time subscriber Michael said:- “Excellent day V , keep ‘em coming!”
Joe sent me a receipt of his winnings, adding:- “You are great, Vernon – bless you sir!”
And ‘Risk for Rewards’ tweeted:- “Never followed a service but couldn’t recomend yours more. Year membership paid for already. Even at small stakes and have the figures to prove it. Top work. Your work is much appreciated.”
