Liverpool celebrated the victory against Manchester City as though they had won the league. It was a crucial victory. It keeps them in reaching distance of Chelsea, who set a record by winning their 13th consecutive Premier League game.
And, of course, it makes it unlikely that Man City will be winning the Premier League come May. If the manager is able to sign the players he wants to next summer, City will be a force next season. But not this.
Liverpool look the best bet to catch Chelsea but the Blues will have to lose their solid central defence . . .
