It's been a ludicrously busy period of football south of the border. It's widely accepted now that football teams are being asked to play too many matches. But, of course, money talks and the richer clubs, along with those who supposedly run the sport, don't believe in the saying that more is less.
I am struck at how football is putting quantity before quality at the very time that the British Horseracing Authority is foolishly considering extending the Cheltenham Festival from four days to five (a festival that should have always remained at three days). When will . . .
