KIMBERLITE CANDY won for subscribers to my VG Tips selections service.
In the type of race I love to study and tend to do well in, the Tom Lacey trained stayer won at Warwick and did so by a whopping ten lengths. Some achievement when you consider that Group 3 Handicap Chase was over a distance of 3 miles and 5 furlongs.
The gelding displayed great stamina and was actually staying on at the finish of the exhausting race. That led trainer of the runner up Dan Skelton to say on Sunday morning that he believed Kimberlite Candy was ideal for the Grand National at Aintree on April 4th. A race for which I have tipped the winner the last four years.
Kimberlite Candy is currently 25/1 with bookies returning each way bets about the first 5 past the post in Liverpool come April. Even though those odds are not available on Non Runner, No Bet terms, I have placed a small each way on Kimberlite Candy. Just as I did when tipping One For Arthur ante-post to win the 2017 Grand National when priced at odds of 40/1.
Yesterday’s race at Warwick also saw me serve my each way backing members when suggesting that the light weighted Petite Power would finish in the places. Petite Power finished third at SP odds of 12/1. A win-win situation for punters of all tastes.
