Now we know racing is back! Royal Ascot 2020 was a fantastic feast of racing. The meeting has whetted the appetite of punters who were for so long deprived of the chance to watch top quality racing and the ability to have a bet.
Royal Ascot delivered me 7 winners and 10 profitable each way placed punts.
It wasn’t the easiest event for any keen punters. So many horses had not enjoyed the benefit of a prep race for the royal meeting and, in many cases, it showed. Some horses that were expected to do well didn’t look race fit to me. But others surprised in a positive fashion. This was a Royal Ascot that offered up the highest priced winner in the history of the meeting. At SP odds of 150/1, Nando Parrado won the Coventry Stakes. No, I wasn’t on that one!
My winners offered to members of VG Tips, at prices available the night before or the SP, were:- Tactical 13/2 (photographed above), Molatham 5/1, Russian Emperor 7/2, Art Power 9/4, Frankly Darling 6/4, Stradivarius 4/5 and Battaash 5/6.
Each Way tips that returned placed profit included 40/1 tip Rochester House, which finished fifth in the Ascot Stakes. Subjectivist 28/1, Cherokee Trail 28/1, Nahaar 18/1, Affaak 16/1, Mighty Spirit 16/1, Spanish City 16/1, Roseman 14/1, Kimari 7/1 and Passion at 13/2. Some tidy returns without winning. Profitable punting comes in different shapes and sizes. It all counts.
Now it’s time to plan ahead for a summer of fun and top quality racing. I’m ready. Are you?
Anyone wanting to join VG Tips for one year as a new member can do so here and now for only £150 – that works out at just £12.50 a month.
I already have my fancies for the Irish Derby on June 27th, the English Derby on July 4th and the Oaks – one of my favourite races ever year – at Epsom on the same day. The Coral Eclipse is the next day, Sunday 5th of July and the July Cup follows on ten days later. Another personal favourite race, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes is on June 25th. In the final week of July we can look forward to the Sussex Stakes in which Pinatubo is expected to take on Siskin.
Glorious Goodwood will see the mighty Stradivarius back on a racecourse. In mid August, racing returns to the Knavesmire at York for the always good quality Ebor meeting. All that and much more offers us some great racing and betting opportunities.
There is plenty of top class racing for me to study and, as ever, I shall be offering racing and football analysis and tips to members all year long.
2020 has seen sport disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic but there’s no stopping me now that the action has returned.
Since 1998 I have spent my time studying form and writing up detailed analysis for subscribers to my long established service. Some members have been with me for several years. I am grateful for the loyalty of everyone during the seventy days when we were without racing. But it’s back now and time for me to offer members old and new my thoughts based on research, knowledge, my obsession with value in the betting market and my consistent ability to end each year ahead of the bookie.
