Members of my VG Tips betting tips service come and go. Some have been with me for years, decades even. Some come and go – only to return. They are all welcome.
I was so grateful to them for staying with me during the 70 days that we were all without sport. No racing. No football. My patient punters, however, stuck with me throughout the Coronavirus pandemic that led to the sports being suspended. I guess that confirms that they know profitable punting is a marathon and not a sprint. Also that they are happy with the service I have long offered. Don’t take my word for it. Read below what some of them have told me in recent times.
On Saturday, 3/1 tip Santiago (photographed above) won the Irish Derby for my followers. On Sunday, 4/5 tip Magical made it an Aidan O’Brien weekend double for us when she won the Pretty Polly Stakes.
Also for that race I suggested fellow punters might like to join me in backing the forecast that would see the 10/1 shot Cayenne Pepper finish second behind Magical. That’s precisely what happened. Along with Santiago, Magical and Eastern World, 2/1 tip Buckhurst was another winner at the weekend.
Before lockdown, the Cheltenham Festival also went well for myself and members. It was the last racing in England for which I was able to offer tips before the sport was mothballed.
Dame De Compagnie was just one Cheltenham winner for us. Tipped when available at odds of 10/1, Phil was pleased with that one: “Well done Vernon. You stuck to principles that are paying off today.”
In the very last race of the glorious festival I offered Indefatigable as an each way selection when the horse was priced at 50/1. Several subscribers followed me in.
Alun tweeted me to say: “Well done Vern. Indefatigable came from nowhere. On at 66s, 50s and 40s.”
Long serving member Alex was chuffed: “Get in there Vern, brilliant tip.”
Paul said: “Absolutely cracking pick in the last Vernon, much obliged.”
Antonia e-mailed me: “No doubt I am at the end of a long line of folks thanking you for such a brilliant week of tipping. Finishing off with the wonderful mare Indefatigable was the piece de resistance. At 40/1, that was a great end to the week.”
While I prefer to concentrate on the top quality race meetings and not the dross, there are profitable punts throughout the year.
Brian and Alan were happy on February 19th when all four tips for the day won. Brian tweeting to say: “Tasty 4 out of 4 today Vernon. Nice treble and four-fold, I had some of that.”
As it seems did Alan who contacted me to tell me: “Nice 4 out of 4 today Vernon. The treble and four-fold gave a nice profit.”
Philip e-mailed me the week lockdown was imposed, to say: “Just a quick email to say thank you. Your analysis is great and thoroughly enjoy reading your emails. It is very clear you are a decent man extending the membership until service resumes.”
So nice are my followers that some even refused to take up my offer of a 70 day extension to their membership which they were entitled to due to the suspension of sport. Dominic is in the UAE and e-mailed to say “Thanks Vernon, that’s very kind but I’m happy to stick to the original payment day. Lockdown was not your fault and you’ve made me plenty over the years.”

I’ve been a profitable punter finishing each and every year ahead of the bookie since 1998. I’m not a high roller. I am a sensible punter as well as a profitable one. I don’t make promises that cannot be kept by anyone. I guarantee that I will not make you a millionaire. I will not claim that my tips will enable you to tell your boss to stuff the day job where the sun doesn’t shine.
I do promise to spend all my days researching and studying form for racing and football and passing on to members my analysis, advice and betting tips. E-mailed to you and available in the exclusive members’ enclosure at the VG Tips website.
Next up we have two of the best flat races to take place in England every year. The Oaks and the Derby at Epsom. I’m already studying form for the weekend. If you want to receive my analysis and betting tips, choose which membership option suits you.
Betting on sport should be an enjoyable experience. You must be able to take the downs with the ups. Safe in the knowledge that, as a VG Tips subscriber, the ups will outnumber the downs across the year. I can help you learn to be a profitable punter using lessons learned from my long experience as someone who specialises in betting on those two sports.
