Hukum, Masekela, Head Mistress and Coroebus win in the space of 24 hours

So often it is the case that taking an early price can deliver a punter the most profit.

Take the 4/1 on offer for HEAD MISTRESS (photographed above) to win the Listed Curragh Stakes last Friday.  I alerted subscribers to my selection service that trainer Ger Lyons had a good record in the race and he won it again when the filly won her second successive race in good fashion and by half a length. The past the post SP price was 11/4. So the early bird punter got the best returns.

I was especially pleased when, also last Friday, my 5/2 NAP called COROEBUS won first time on a racecourse and in the hands of William Buick. He rides Newmarket racecourse so well. The question before the race was whether or not this Godolphin owned colt could beat the John Gosden trained Saga, which had the benefit of a prior run when second. Coroebus pulled away and beat that one into second by a length and a quarter. I told members of VG Tips to put the name of Coroebus into their trackers or notebooks. He looks smart.

Saturday delivered two winners and three double figure priced each way selections returned placed profit. Again, in almost every case, those who took the early price did best.

HUKUM was available at odds of Evens when selected for members. The favourite to win the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes duly delivered. For those who do not like backing at such odds, I also offered the each way selection of Rodrigo Diaz at odds of 12/1. That one finished second behind Hukum and some subscribers placed the straight forecast bet.

Also at Newbury, MASEKELA, a 6/4 selection, had earlier won the Listed Denford Stakes, beating Bayside Boy by a head.

Each Way placed profit also came in the two big field handicaps at Ripon when 14/1 tip I Am A Dreamer finished fourth and Soul Seeker grabbed the all important seventh place in the Great St Wilfrid handicap, a race for which some bookies returned on the first seven past the post.

I’ve just reduced membership prices until September 1st.
