It was a weekend to remember for members of VG Tips, my long established service that offers racing and football analysis and tips direct to subscribers all year long.
HERMOSA won the Irish 1000 Guineas from start to finish. Tipped to members when priced 11/4, she won at SP odds of 5/2. Hermosa means ‘beautiful’ in Spanish and a beautiful weekend it was for my followers.
Watch that race in full at the foot of this page.
It means VG Tips members received 7 winners from 9 races selected over the weekend and they included the winners of both the Irish 2000 and 1000 Guineas.
A fine effort if I say so myself. But I don’t have to. Peter signed up for a year a little while ago and he sent me the below e-mail:
“Hope you have enjoyed the weekend and most of all the sunshine. I watched all your videos last week which I know maybe older but I presume you are still out in the sunshine to live. It was great to talk to you and hear the success you have had since 1998 but it has been even better to see it for myself over the last few weeks since I signed up.
“Phoenix of Spain was offered 20/1 Saturday morning and to land both Guineas this week has been brilliant. Its nice knowing that someone has put all the hard work in so I can still enjoy the racing even when I don’t have time to study the form. I am used to horses 4/1 or lower for my own personal picks but I am finding myself more excited about smaller stakes but landing a place at 8/1, 12/1 and so on. It’s been great to learn not only to win from.
Along with all the other congratulatory messages I have received from grateful members, that was very kind of Pete to take the time to write. I am especially delighted to see that he understands the way I work and that I’m helping him to bet better. Don’t forget, the first 6 parts of my video course on ‘How to Bet Better’ are available on the VG Tips website and at YouTube.
Peter refers to my being in the sun. That’s because profitable punting played a part in my being able to move to southern Spain back in the summer of 2015. While I miss going to race meetings and football matches as much as I used to, I stay in touch with what is going on in both sports. The contacts I built up in both sports over four decades of working in newspapers and televised sport helps me do that.
But there’s nobody else to blame if I pick a loser (as all punters do from time to time). Nobody else to thank but myself for finding big priced winners such as Phoenix of Spain, and profitable each way bets.
