10/1, 9/2 and 4/1 winners for members of VG TIPS on Saturday. The first was the generously priced Gleneagles, which won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket with plenty to spare. I expect there are more big race wins to come for that filly.
Ryan Moore rode her to victory for trainer Aidan O’Brien. A jockey/trainer combination that will produce plenty of winners this flat season. Gleneagles was best price 7/2 when I tipped her to win the 2000 Guineas. I thought that was a good price. But it got even better for members of VG TIPS. She came past the post first at an SP price of 4/1.
I know the 2000 Guineas included several in with a chance but, in my opinion, Gleneagles should have been half that price. I’m not complaining. At times like that I’m glad to be a punter and not a bookie.
And members of VG TIPS had three winners on the last day of the Punchestown Festival in Ireland. I was pleased that Petite Parisienne bounced back to winning ways and the early price of 9/2 was value.
And, in a race of 22 horses, I found for members the winner of a very competitive race which was won by my 10/1 tip, Sort it Out. The winner was one of several JP McManus owned horses in the race, but members of VG TIPS backed the right one.
All that along with the joy of watching Annie Power win again, (albeit at a prohibitively short price), and it was a very pleasing and profitable day at the races.
