There is sure to be a sombre atmosphere at Villa Park on Tuesday night following the tragic shooting dead of one of their past star players of recent years, Dalian Atkinson. It is reported police used a Tasar and killed him.
Atkinson at his best was a potent striker and one of his goals won the Goal of the Season competition. Manager Ron Atkinson loved his namesake, had him at Villa and then paid £450.000 to take him to Sheffield Wednesday when Atkinson managed the Owls.
Dalian also had spells at Ipswich, Manchester City and Real Sociedad in Spain . . .
