Cup winners at VG Tips

What an excellent weekend for the FA Cup in England – and a winning one for members of VG Tips who like to bet on football.

At a time when the competition has been undermined by some, I enjoyed watching Cambridge beat Newcastle, Kidderminster Harriers upset Reading, Nottingham Forest knock out a woeful Arsenal, along with other giant killings.

On the betting front, Scottish football tipster Robert Ryan had a 100% record for subscribers to VG Tips. All of his five tips paid out. Wins for Kilmarnock, Airdrie and Kelty Hearts. He also tipped Partick Thistle to score two or or more goals at odds of 5/4. They drew 2-2 at Hamilton. Finally, Robert was right again when tipping both teams to score for the match between Raith Rovers and Inverness. The game ended 1-1. A full house of winners. Well done Robert!

While in England, I was also busy tipping winning bets. Hartlepool won for us again. I tipped them at odds of 3/1 in the Win/Draw No Bet market. They beat Blackpool 2-1. It was the third time this season that Hartlepool had won a cup tie for members at odds against prices.

Huddersfield were available at 5/1 to win at Burnley. I took the safer option and tipped them in the Double Chance (win or draw) market at odds of 21/20. They came from behind to knock out Premier League Burnley 1-2. Three Huddersfield players are photographed above, celebrating victory.

Barrow gave it a right go at Barnsley. The game ended 4-4 at 90 minutes. It meant I got my stake back on the Win/Draw No Bet market. Barnsley got the all important ninth goal in extra time.

The both teams to score bet for non league Kidderminster versus Reading paid out at odds of 10/11 and Middlesbrough won for us at odds of 8/13.

A good weekend of winning football tips and proof positive that the FA Cup is alive and well.

The first weekend bet to pay out came in League 1 when Sunderland and Wycombe fought out a 3-3 draw.  I tipped both teams to score at odds of 4/5. The same odds applied for my selection of Tranmere to win at home against Scunthorpe, which they did by a scoreline of 4-0.
