Chris Turner talks football

chris in blue and white tieChris Turner was the first goalkeeper to play under the reign of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Chris had been signed by Ron Atkinson after making his name at Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland.

Later, in 1991, Chris was back at Hillsborough and found himself as the Owls goalie when Sheffield Wednesday beat Manchester United 1-0 in the League Cup final of that year.

Chris tried his hand at management. First at Leyton Orient, then Hartlepool and finally back at Sheffield Wednesday.

He is now Chief Executive at Chesterfield football club.

In this interview, filmed in December 2011, I talk to him about Fergie, the players he played with and against, the good and bad days at Sheffield Wednesday and whether it is wise for someone who was a favourite player for one particular team, to go back and manage that club
