Cheltenham Festival Day 2 Preview

Cheltenham Festival Day 2 Preview

Wednesday is the day when I shall be missing Sprinter Sacre.

I think it a great shame that the top class Nicky Henderson horse will not be taking his place in the feature race on day 2, the Queen Mother Champion Chase. The race is a weaker affair without him.

On the up side, for punters who like a challenge, it does mean the race is more open.

Can Sire de Grugy get his head in front for the first time at Cheltenham? Will Captain Conan or Kid Cassidy prevent Sire de Grugy from winning?

The opening race on Wednesday is the Neptune Investment Novices’ Hurdle. Faugheen leads the betting market but expect late money for Red Sherlock and Rathvinden.

Trainer Nicky Henderson and jockey Barry Geraghty may well be visiting the winners’ enclosure today.

Recorded a few days ago, before some horses were withdrawn from today’s races, here is a half hour preview featuring Paul Nicholls, who has chances of winners himself today.)
