I guess that, as a natural born ginger, I should have had an each way bet on 33/1 shot, A Splash of Ginge, winner of one of the big races on Saturday.
But I didn't. Delighted for the owners and jockey Ryan Hatch, who has known the horse almost all its life.
Our Far West was contesting a place at 12/1 when falling at the last fence. At first I feared the worst, but thankfully he got up and trainer Paul Nicholls reported all was well.
Not a great day for Nicholls as his Al Ferof was . . .
