Francisco Junior scores a late winner for Wigan – and VG TIPS members

VG TIPS members who love their football, and like to bet on the sport, have had a good few days of profitable punting.

Last weekend a 17/1 accumulator paid off. I suggested we combine four bets and my money was on. I decided I want to try and make £199.99 profit on the bet. Therefore my stake with Bet Victor was £12.23.

I suggested wins for Burnley, Scunthorpe and Wigan. And I added to that treble a bet on Jamie Vardy of Leicester to score at any time in their game against West Bromwich Albion. When Vardy hit the post in the first half, I was worried. He had been scoring goals for fun of late. Surely this wasn’t to be the day when he fired blanks.

At the time when he scored a good second half goal for the Foxes, Burnley and Scunthorpe each led 2-0 in their respective matches. But Wigan, despite having had more possession than the visitors Swindon Town, had failed to score and that game stood at 0-0 going into injury time. I thought we had lost.

But there were to be several minutes of injury time. This can be a curse. Sometimes bets only fail because of a goal scored deep into injury time. But this time it worked in our favour. Francisco Junior is on loan from Everton and he scored a 96th minute winner for Wigan Athletic. It was the last meaningful kick of the match.

Like all good punters, I jumped from my sofa and punched the air.

My members had won a 17/1 acca and I could bank my £200 of profit. Nice one Francisco!

In midweek I offered seven individual tips. Five of them returned profit. If anyone did bet on all seven, with a stake of £10 on each, they would have been over £48 in profit on Wednesday night.

Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton drew at odds of 23/10, as I predicted. When studying the form, I was surprised to discover that Zenit St Petersburg were available at 9/4 to win another game in their Champions League group. After all they had won all three games so far, including when beating Lyon in the home leg of the same match. Zenit won the return leg in France 0-2.

Add to that my winning NAP bet for Coventry City to beat Barnsley at odds of 19/20, Derby County to win at 8/11 and Roma and Bayer Leverkusen (who had played out a 4-4 draw in their first meeting) to both score in the Italian leg of their tie. The game ended 3-2 so the both teams to score bet paid out at a best price of 11/18.

The one that got away in midweek was my tip for Chelsea to draw with Dyanmo Kiev. It looked as though that bet would also pay off, this time at odds of 29/10. But, with seven minutes of the match remaining, up popped Willian to score a winner for Chelsea. You can’t win them all.

It’s been a very good week for football punters at VG TIPS.

My next football tips will be available to members on Friday November 6th for games played that weekend.
