Members of VG Tips enjoyed a 100% record when it came to my win only racing tip at Gowran Park races on January 24th.
I offered 4 win only tips offered to members. All 4 won.
Presenting Percy, a winner for members of VG Tips at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival, returned from a long lay off to win the Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle. The 366 day absence from racing before today – not a bother on him. He heads for Cheltenham in March where he is now the clear best price 3/1 favourite for the Gold Cup on Friday March 15th.
That win followed the first of the day when 11/8 tips The Big Dog also won for subscribers to my selections service.
And then Invitation Only, a 6/1 tip to members on Wednesday night, made it three from three by winning Thyestes Chase at SP odds of 4/1. Both generous prices. In second was the mentioned in despatches (“I wouldn’t put anyone off backing”) Alpha Des Obeaux at SP odds of 20/1.
To complete the quartet of winners, Cilaos Emery came home first in the Beginners Chase at odds of 11/8 and was followed home in second by my 16/1 offering to each way backers, Impact Factor.
A fantastic day of profitable punting at the races and it was pleasing to hear from members who had made money using modest stakes.
Alun tweeted me @betonsportstips to say: “A £1 win Yankee paid £334. A very acceptable return I would say!”
While Michael came out on top another way. He told me: “Great day, had the four in a lucky 15.”
It’s always pleasing to hear how my select band of VG Tips subscribers have beaten the bookie.
We’d suffered a miserable few days in mid January when, for the first time since last September, I fired too many blanks at the races. But that’s racing and that’s punting. You have to be able to suffer the lows but enjoy the highs. As I was telling members only that week, a bad run is always followed by a good run. Patience remains the best friend of any long term punter.
