Members of VG Tips enjoyed a winning weekend of football tips in England and Scotland.
My 16/1, four teams to win accumulator combined two English teams with two Scottish sides. On Sunday, the bet paid out once Nottingham Forest had come from behind to beat Luton Town 3-1.
Two goals from Nottingham Forest player Joe Lolley delivered us lots of lolly! A late Lewis Grabban penalty secured three points for Forest who now move into the top six in the Championship.
On Saturday Rotherham, Clyde and Ayr had already won for myself and subscribers to my long established selection service.
A wonderful winning accumulator for members of VG Tips. The first of 2020 but not the last.
When it came to the single bet offerings from me, tipping Norwich City to win a game was quite a bold move. Especially when you consider the Canaries had only had three Premier League wins to sing about. True, they were at home to fellow relegation candidates Bournemouth. But odds of 5/4 tempted me to tip the Norwich win and, thanks to a Pukki penalty, they won 1-0 and acquired three points that leaves Norwich with hope of survival.
My tip for Watford and Tottenham to draw paid out at odds of 13/5. The game ended 0-0. A good point for Watford manager Nigel Pearson and a predictably morose post match interview with ever moaning Jose Mourinho.
Odds of 21/20 were generous for another Sunderland victory. They march ever upwards in League 1 and Sunderland are now best price 5/2 to be promoted.
My Scottish football tipster, Robert Ryan, stuck his neck out and came up with some proposed Scottish Cup shocks. He suggested backing Championship side Ayr to beat Premiership opponents Ross County at odds of 5/2. Ayr duly obliged. Robert also tipped wins for Clyde at odds of 7/5, Inverness 3/4 and St.Johnston at 4/9.
Other English winning tips from me came via in form Rotherham United at odds of 1/2, Portsmouth at 4/6 and Colchester United at 4/7.
The weekend of football betting ended on two more highs. Liverpool half time/full time at odds of 11/10 and Liverpool to win against Manchester United and there be under 3.5 goals also paid off at odds of 6/5. In a captivating match, Liverpool dominated proceedings and won 2-0.
The football tips will continue all year long as once the current domestic season ends in May, we have the European Championships to look forward to.
