The transfer window was its usual bizarre self. The sooner clubs cannot sign anyone after the start of the season, or at least until January, the better for all of us. Especially us punters. We make predictions before a ball has been kicked in August and then, a matter of weeks later, some clubs buy like there is no tomorrow while others sell the family silver. All of a sudden, the likely fortunes of those clubs change dramatically.
