So the deed is done. Cautious Carlos Carvalhal has paid the price for not not playing a proven goalscorer in Tammy Abraham and for reverting to type. For doing what he did previously at Sheffield Wednesday and trying to win football matches while playing, at most, one man up front. Why did he do it again? I don't know. Did he learn nothing from the meek manner in which his Wednesday said lost the Championship play off semi-final to Huddersfield? Clearly not.
