Four weeks before they learned Channel 4 had lost the contract to produce all racing coverage, the dedicated and professional production team working for independent production company IMG were, as usual, hard at work.
Thanks to Executive Producer Carl Hicks and Channel 4, I was granted exclusive behind the scenes access to film the team at work at Newbury on November 28th, and a week later at Sandown.
In this, part 3 in my series of films, I rose early to watch the production team rehearse and transmit the weekly Saturday morning preview show, the Morning Line. Watch my 15 minute fly on the wall film above.
I interview director Denise Large and producer Sophie Veats and watch AP McCoy, Nick Luck, Rishi Persad, Emma Spencer, Mick Fitzgerald and Tanya Stevenson at work.
In the fourth and final part of my series of films with Channel 4 Racing, I film on the studio set at Sandown and have an informative and frank exchange with Executive Producer, Carl Hicks. That will be available here at VG TIPS and via YouTube and Vimeo before the Grand National at Aintree in April.
Parts 1 & 2, featuring steadicam operator Adrian Camm, along with my candid interviews with presenters Nick Luck & Rishi Persad, can also be found at those locations.
